Objective of the project

To promote the recovery of individual and community well-being, active citizenship and enterprise in the communities of Amatrice, Accumoli, Arquata del Tronto, Camerino, Borbona e Alto Nera

Context analysis

Between August 2016 and January 2017, a series of earthquakes hit the Centre of Italy causing several human casualties and material damages particularly in Abruzzo, Marche, Lazio and Umbria regions. The so-called earthquake zone is geographically big and includes nearly 140 municipalities for a total estimated population of 512,000 people. The area as well as the lives of the people living in that area have been drastically changed by the event. Life habits, traditions and spaces of community engagement have gone lost and people are dealing with their personal losses and deaths. A large part of the population is still living in emergency prefabricated buildings and is struggling to go back to normalcy. This issue can be observed in the types of requests of psychological support received by the PSY+ Onlus which are less and less involving post traumatic symptoms and more linked to adaptation problems, parental problems, relationship problems as well as to problems related to living in isolation.
