In 2014, the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) carried out a survey, the first of its kind, asking 42,000 women about their experience with violence. According to the results, almost one in four women had experienced physical, sexual and/or psychological violence in the course of their relationships.Anti-Violence Centres (CAV) play a key role in providing women with the necessary support to get out of all forms of violence (physical, sexual, psychological, economic) through a customised pathway that can include shelter, legal and psychological support, and referral to territorial services. The experience of the CAVs shows that women often do not interrupt violent relationships because they do not have sufficient economic autonomy.Milano, Metropolitan City of Milan, ItalyPadova, Province of Padua, ItalyRome, Metropolitan City of Rome, ItalyBari, Metropolitan City of Bari, ItalyKarditsa, GreeceRuse, BulgariaParis, FranceThe project is implemented in the following cities: Milano, Padua, Bari, Rome (IT); Karditsa (GR); Ruse (BG) and Paris (FR).Implementation Period 01/04/2021 - 31/03/2023BeneficiariesDirectWomen who experienced violenceWorkers of Anti-Violence CentresCompaniesTrade unions, employment agencies, training centres and institutions will participate in the policy labIndirectWomen who experienced violenceNational and European stakeholders relevant to the issues addressed by the project will be targeted by advocacy actions and dissemination of policy lab resultsGeneral publicProject StrategyActivitiesCapacity building to Anti-Violence Centres to influence policies supporting the socio-economic empowerment of women survivors of violencePromote the participation of actors from the world of work (companies, trade unions, employment centres) in the co-design and implementation of policies aimed at favouring the socio-economic empowerment of women who experienced violenceEnhance the participation of institutions in the co-design and implementation of policies aimed at favouring the socio-economic empowerment of women emerging from violence, also thanks to the development of a pilot projectCommunication, lobbying and advocacy Outputs4 trainings for operators of anti-violence centres4 workshops with actors from the world of work4 round tables with institutionsA policy lab methodology developed4 policy lab paths activated4 white papers developed4 pilot actions implemented and evaluated Outcomes400 AVCs operators will learn more about labour rights and policies for women survivors of violence and about the measures available to support their socio-economic independence60 AVCs operators will actively participate in a process to co-design policies and practical measures to support women’s economic empowerment (policy lab)80 women who experienced violence will be directly supported through empowerment courses15 companies will benefit from training courses and 10 will also participate in the certification process to promote gender equality and defining their own objectives for improvement200 representatives of companies, trade unions, employment agencies, training centres and institutions will participate in the policy labs2000 professionals will be sensitised on the socio-economic empowerment of women assisted by AVCs1000 national and European relevant stakeholders addressed by the project will be targeted by advocacy actions and dissemination of the policy lab results LinksProject's website / View websiteDo you want to know more projects on women's rights? / View website
