The distinctive focus of our programmatic action, anywhere in the world, must be linked to an effort to improve the quality of democracy. We strive to fight the root causes of poverty and social injustice because they hinder people from becoming key actors of change, starting from those most excluded. Only thanks to a democracy that is lived to the full and not exercised exclusively in the choice of representations can we believe it possible to achieve sustainable development of communities and peoples, as well as individuals.
